The difference between double offset paper and copy paper in supermarket cash register paper

1. Moisture content Generally, the moisture content of offset paper for printing is higher (6-8%), and the moisture content of electrostatic copying paper is low (3.8-5%). When copying, low water content can effectively reduce the copy curl caused by instantaneous high temperature and high pressure. If double offset paper is used instead of copy paper, the paper may become uneven after copying, due to the higher moisture content. For double offset paper printing, too low water content will cause the paper to stretch when it encounters water during the printing process, resulting in inaccurate overprinting.

2. Static electricity control Generally, the double offset paper for printing is mainly used for printing and has static electricity; while the electrostatic copy paper itself has eliminated static electricity (adding antistatic agent when surface sizing, and adopting static electricity removing device when cutting).

3. Paper surface treatment (smoothness and stiffness) Generally, double offset paper for printing uses traditional hard calendering to treat the paper surface to achieve the smoothness required by printing. Different paper feeding methods may require lower smoothness. Electrostatic copying paper adopts advanced soft calendering technology for paper surface treatment. The relatively high surface roughness can obtain good bulk and stiffness, reduce the jam rate of copy paper, and maintain good friction with the pickup roller to ensure Feed the paper smoothly. But too high roughness can easily cause paper jams due to poor feeding, and too low roughness can easily cause paper jams due to slippage with the pickup roller. Double offset paper does not require stiffness, while copy paper requires a higher stiffness, because the stiffness of the paper directly affects the copying effect. 4. Whiteness Generally, the whiteness of offset paper for printing is low, while the whiteness of electrostatic copying paper is high, and luminous agent is added.
